Bro. Wes takes a look at the all-important issue of Giving or Tithing. Our concept of giving directly corresponds to how God has already, graciously given to us. Paul writes to Corinth and refers to God’s Gift of His Son, Jesus, when he states, “Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!” Giving is a vital part of our Christian faith because God Himself—is a GIVER. As such, God wants us as His children to be givers as well. God doesn’t just pour out His blessings on us, or favor us, so that we can keep taking and taking and hoard it all for ourselves. No! God gives to us, in order that we might share is blessings with others—especially to people who are in great need!
Jesus commanded: “Give as freely as you have received!” In II Cor. 9:8, the Apostle Paul writes: “God will generously provide all you need.”
“Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.” Paul goes on to say in verse 11: “Yes, you will be enriched so that you can give even more generously.” But still, I do know that giving is a very sensitive issue to many people. We will review three main questions today pertaining to giving.
