How to Pray about Your Problems

Passage: James 5:13-20
Service Type:

Bro. Wes finishes up his Sermon Series from the Book of James, entitled, ‘Developing a Faith that Works.’ This final message is ‘How to Pray about Your Problems.’ Interestingly, James, who wrote the Book of James, had a reputation for being a man of prayer. His nickname was ‘Old Camel Knees,’ because he had such big knots on his knees from spending hours and hours in prayer.

There is tremendous power in prayer. Prayer is one of the greatest privileges of the Christian life—to be able to talk to God and to listen to God. In Luke 1:1, it says: “One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When He finished, one of His disciples said to Him, ‘Lord, teach us to pray.’" Notice the fact that Jesus’ disciples didn’t say, ‘Teach us how to do miracles,’ or even, ‘Teach us how to preach.’ They said, ‘Teach us how to pray!’ Why? Because the disciples witnessed firsthand all the incredible things that happened in Jesus’ life as a result of spending time in prayer with His Heavenly Father!

However, for most of us we talk a lot about prayer. We study at prayer, but truthfully, a lot of us are not too satisfied with our prayer life. In this sermon, Bro Wes. looks at ‘When should you pray,’ ‘Who or what kind of person can pray,’ and ‘How can you pray more effectively.’
